M&M automotive sales including exports grow by 15.5% in May 2008
MUMBAI, June 2, 2008: Mahindra & Mahindra, a part of the US $6.7 billion Mahindra Group, announced its May 2008 automotive sales figures.
Combined automotive sales, including exports in May 2008, were at 20,653 vehicles, as against 17,881, in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 15.5%.
Total automotive domestic sales for May 2008 stood at 19,296 vehicles, as against 17,079 vehicles in May 2007, registering a growth of 13%.
Automotive exports for May 2008 stood at 1357 vehicles, as against 802 vehicles in May 2007.
Passenger Cars
Mahindra Renault sold 1531 units of the Logan in May 2008, as against 2551 units sold in May 2007.
Domestic sales
M&M clocked total automotive vehicles sales of 19,296 units in the domestic market in May ‘08 as against 17,079 in the corresponding month last fiscal, a 13% increase.
Exports
The company’s automotive sector clocked sales of 1357 vehicles in May ’08 as against 802 units in the corresponding period last fiscal.
